How to Install an eSIM on iPhone and Android (Step by Step)
Two phones, two screens, four minutes. Here's the actual click-by-click for both ecosystems.
Before you start
Make sure you're on WiFi, your phone is unlocked (carrier-unlocked, not just screen-unlocked), and you have the QR code we emailed you open on a second screen or printed.
iPhone: 4 steps
Open Settings, tap Cellular, tap Add eSIM, choose Use QR Code, and point your camera at the QR. The profile installs in about 20 seconds. Label it 'GhostESIM Travel' so you can find it later.
- Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM
- Use QR Code → scan the code from your email
- Label the line and choose your default for data
- Land at your destination, turn on Data Roaming for the GhostESIM line
Android (Pixel & Samsung): 4 steps
Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Download a SIM instead → Next → scan the QR. On Samsung the path is Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
Common issues
If the QR fails, the carrier server may be momentarily busy — wait a minute and rescan. If the profile installs but no data flows, toggle airplane mode off and on, then enable Data Roaming for the new line.
Frequently asked questions
Can I install the same QR on two phones?+
No. eSIM profiles are single-install by design. If you install it on phone A, phone B can't reuse it. Email support if you need a re-issue.
Why does my phone say 'No service' after install?+
Almost always because Data Roaming is off for the new line. Settings → Cellular → tap the GhostESIM line → Data Roaming on.
